After the recent release of 11.10, I am finding a lots of information flowing through my ears regarding Ubuntu TV and Ubuntu Phone, tablet teams. As the Ubuntu phone is planned by 2008, this year, there is a lots of activities, meetings and action items from this team. After the last UDS, everything in the community seems running and it is really good for the community.

Today, we had a meeting in Ubuntu TV and it seems like the development will start soon. We had discussions about prioritizing the action items in development. We had rough discussions about all other plugins to be used for the Ubuntu TV project, about mythtv plugins and all other possible ways to make the TV project simple and efficient.

Launch bar was the another important point in the discussions. We had lots of ideas and the discussions about where to contact and what to do next.

Final high priority works lists for Ubuntu TV team
- Plugin support
- Cloud and/or server storage (for home grown media)
- Playback of physical media (USB cd/dvd/bluray drive)
- Installable image
- Easy configuration of new devices (eg. installing same plugins, mounting same network shares)
- Ubuntu One Accounts
- Push media to/from other Ubuntu devices / Media syncing capabilities (Pause on one device, resume from same spot on another device)
- Collaborate with other Ubuntu devices (context: https://lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone/msg00006.html )
- Control from portable devices (phones/tablets/web interface/PC) (collaboration with Ubuntu Phone/Tablet?)

If you are interested to join the project, contact the team in the launchpad and subscribe to  ML to keep track of the actions. The best way if you ask me is to join IRC freenode network and ask in #ubuntu-tv :)
